When did you decide working in construction was the thing you wanted to do:
I started working part time at a merchant after studying whilst starting my own business in another industry. A year in I was hooked, everything just clicked and I realized construction was the industry for me! I closed my business, went full time and have never looked back. I was/ am lucky to have worked with some very passionate people who inspired and pushed me forward especially in the early days and always reminded me because I was a 'female' I would have to work harder and be smarter than the boys, so I made sure I did and I was.
What are you most passionate about?
Education. I love that our industry is always evolving and there is something new to learn everyday! A big part of my current role is educating those who work with our products- talking about alternative solutions, compliance and working collectively to achieve a goal.
Why did you join NAWIC?
When stepping into my current role I was shown support from (unbeknown to me at the time) NAWIC members. When they asked if I would like to join/ be involved it was a no brainer.
