What is your current title for work?
Franchise owner of Landmark Homes Bay of Plenty
How many years have you been in the construction industry:
3.5 years
When did you decide working in construction was the thing you wanted to do:
My husband has been in the construction industry many years whilst I had been working as a theatre nurse here in the Bay and caring for our 5 children, we took the plunge and brought a building franchise ‘Landmark Homes BOP’ together and that was the beginning of this exciting journey!
What are you most passionate about?
People! With a background in Nursing I think that has translated over to my career in construction well as I believe the people are the centre of business and the construction industry. I strive to make the women in my team feel empowered and supported and am passionate about supporting all of our amazing NAWIC members in their dreams!
Why did you join NAWIC?
Another member/friend told me about NAWIC BOP and I was so excited to learn there was something like NAWIC locally that I could join to build networks with other local ladies in the construction industry and to continue learning and be inspired!
What would you like to see for the future of women in construction?
More recognition in the industry! Women building each other up, and to have a fantastic support network around our women.
