CONNECTING IN CONSTRUCTION

NAWIC IS IN THE BUSINESS OF CONNECTING WOMEN SO THEY CAN SHARE EXPERIENCES AND INFORMATION IN AN INFORMAL SETTING.

Our Connecting in Construction sessions give NAWIC members the opportunity to hear from others and also share similar situations. It is not about re-inventing the wheel, but to learn from our peer groups. It is a great way to meet other women in construction and encourage others.

The event starts with a guest speaker, following the speaker; the Connecting session splits into smaller groups to discuss relevant topics aimed to engage the participants to speak up. Groups will be re-arranged to meet a different group of women.

Guest speakers are inspiring women from the construction industry, as well as a few from other industries, all with interesting career paths to generate discussions.

Some of our past speakers have been:
Phoenix Lavin, Design & Construction Interface & Transition Manager
Fahimeh Zaeri, Business Improvement, Process & Efficiency Lead
Anna Harley, City Design & Place Planning
Christina de Boer, Design Manager
Diane Taylor, Senior Quantity Surveyor
Flavia Wolfe, Site Engineer
Stacey Mendonca, Chief Estimator
Carrinya Feaunati, Architectural Graduate
Jax Mitchell, Financial Manager
Lucy Sanderson-Gammon, Career Coach

Our NAWIC Members are from a diverse range of women in the construction industry, this gives us an ideal platform to listen and learn from many in their chosen field.

These Connecting in Construction sessions have been well attended with several groups not wanting to close off their discussions.
