What is your current title for work?

Market Engagement Specialist

When did you start in the construction industry:

2019

When did you decide working in construction was the thing you wanted to do:

About 6 months into working for BCITO (2019) I realized the wealth of opportunities the construction industry provides to people entering the workforce.

What are you most passionate about?

Ensuring that people leaving high school have all of their options in front of them both on and off the tools.

Why did you join NAWIC?

Men need to play their part in making the construction industry a safe and inviting place for women to work. I want to lend my voice to that mission.

What would you like to see for the future of women in construction?

For the question of sexual harassment/assault to not be necessary to consider for women thinking about going on the tools.

Words of wisdom or tips for women at the start of or considering a career in construction:

There's never been a better time to join construction. Large parts of the industry have woken up to the fact that women are more than capable of doing the jobs and it's only a matter of time until those who disagree age out or figure it out for themselves.

What is your favourite thing to do for fun:

Swimming
