When did you start in the construction industry:
2015
When did you decide working in construction was the thing you wanted to do:
I first entered the construction industry in 2015 after buying a commercial flooring business. However, after renovating my own home in 2018, there were many tasks I wanted to do but didn't have the experience to follow through on. I became a qualified carpenter in 2024.
What are you most passionate about?
Service and giving back to my communities.
Why did you join NAWIC?
I was invited to join by someone I have a lot of respect for. When I looked into NAWIC, the events and networking opportunities were really appealing.
What would you like to see for the future of women in construction?
Equal pay and far more of us in industry leadership positions.
Words of wisdom or tips for women at the start of or considering a career in construction:
Find your people, join NAWIC, access the networks, talk to everyone you can and learn from other people's experiences.
What is your favourite thing to do for fun:
Learning new skills. I love the difficulty and discomfort that comes with being on the edge of your knowledge and experience. Last years challenge was learning Dungeons and Dragons.
This year its golf.
