Congratulations to all our finalists 2024

Jen Tyson • May 26, 2024

The 2024 NAWIC Excellence Awards, partnered with Naylor Love are an opportunity to celebrate and showcase some of our talented women working in the construction, building or infrastructure industries.

As you will see from some of the judges comments, all the nominations were amazing, and the sheer number of talented wāhine across the sector made for another challenging judging process. A huge thank you to all those who took the time to nominate themselves or someone else for the 2024 NAWIC Excellence Awards. With a record number of nominations this year, 242, the judges had their work cut out for them to get it down to just 66 finalists!

A massive shout out and thank you to all our incredible judges for being an important part of our annual awards. Here’s what they said about their experience:

“Helping to judge this year was a very humbling experience. The stories we heard from and about women who were absolutely smashing it in their chosen profession, and being role models for others, was very moving.” Zoe

“Each year that I have the honour to be a judge is a privilege. I am equally humbled and inspired by the incredible women we get to talk to and hear about!” Alison

“Judging the NAWIC Awards is an incredibly uplifting experience. Picking a winner in any of the categories is really tough as there are so many amazing nominations.” Graham

“As a first time judge I felt very honored to be able to be involved in judging for the excellence awards. Reading so many wonderful submissions and hearing from the nominees in person and their referee was fantastic.” Sophia

“It is a privilege to speak to the women who have entered our awards. They are just incredible - I cannot describe how uplifting this day is!” Colleen

“In my third year of judging I am seeing more Māori and Pasifika women putting themselves forward for acknowledgement as significant contributors to their sector.” Katherine

“It was a privilege to get a glimpse of these wonderful wāhine in our sector that I did not know prior. My cup was overflowing at the end of the day. I felt immense pride to be part of NAWIC and the goodness this organisation does.” Kelly

“I really did enjoy the experience. Very inspiring, there are some great people out there doing great things in the industry. We are doing the right thing celebrating it in this manner.” Stephen

“It’s been inspiring and uplifting to hear what the incredible nominees are getting up to and what type of machine they were jumping out of to take our call!” Sarah

“What an honour and absolute delight to be judging this category. We all had the best day and are very encouraged to have so many outstanding leaders in the making.” Jennifer
